MyGlass.org.uk gives you the added protection you need should a problem arise when you use a DGCOS installer to include:

• Free Advice Line 0845-053-8975
• Free Deposit Protection

• Free Mediation
• Free Independent Inspectors
• Free Arbitration
• Free use of Inspectors, Mediators and access to The Ombudsman
• Free Access to Compensation Fund to honour Ombudsman awards.
• Free service to investigate any complaints.

Comprehensive protection that makes the difference!

Installer Requirements - Initial Vetting

To reach the high standards laid out by the scheme, installers must:

• Undergo an extensive five-point credit history check (both on the company and the directors) to ensure that the company is stable and legitimate.
• Provide at least ten customer references on work carried out in the last 12 months
• Provide at least three references from suppliers who can testify to the professionalism of the installers.
• Provide a copy of their current health and safety policy
• Carry a minimum insurance policy of £5m public liability and £10m employers liability
• Comply with building control regulations on every installation
• Allow inspectors to inspect any installation deemed necessary
• Allow DGCOS to send customers an independent satisfaction questionnaire (for continued monitoring)
• Submit to the legal jurisdiction of the Ombudsman in case of a dispute or complaint.

• Register every customer with DGCOS

In addition, installers must provide every customer with:

• A clear written contract (including Terms and Conditions)
• A comprehensive written guarantee
• Deposit protection insurance
• An Insurance Backed Guarantee

Keeping Standards High – Ongoing Vetting

Ongoing vetting is essential in ensuring customer satisfaction ratings of all accredited installers remain high.

To ensure the quality of the installers listed through MyGlass.org.uk are consistently high DGCOS send every customer a 'Satisfaction Questionnaire' and pre paid envelope. All results are logged and monitored, where standards slip below the minimum requirements our system picks up low scores and identifies the relevant salespeople and failing fitting teams etc. Those who don’t make the grade will be removed from the site.

Consumer Champion – Nick Ross

MyGlass.co.uk is backed by consumer champion and former BBC Watchdog and Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross - a long time advocate of DGCOS.

Nick explains:

"I got involved with DGCOS because the idea of an Ombudsman is really the Rolls Royce of consumer protection, in this area.

Whether you want to put up a conservatory or whether you decide to install double glazing in your home is entirely up to you, but if you do decide to proceed, I strongly recommend you use a DGCOS member. You need to know your money's protected, you need to know if something goes wrong, that there's someone out there that can sort it out for you.

As a member of the scheme, you'll be part of the most powerful consumer protection organisation in the industry. With DGCOS you really get peace of mind as well as the most comprehensive vetting.

It really is the best thing that's happened in double glazing since…double glazing!"
